GriefHaving had a few guest blogs lately, I was so emotionally touched by an email I received today, that I knew I had to post it here (with permission of course) as I am certain  that this inspirational story can help others. A few years ago, a very shy, quiet and sad man walked into my treatment room. Martin barely spoke about what was going on with him, other than to tell me he felt ‘lost, angry and sad’ over the loss of his father. When I began giving him Reiki, I felt every single negative emotion he was feeling deeper and more powerful than I had ever experienced before. He connected directly with me on a deep level and I had a strong sense that this man did not just need help, he needed saving and I knew only one person could do that … HIMSELF.

Survive or Thrive?

It is my view that in order to become a successful therapist who is able to help people make radical changes, you need to have experienced pain yourself. I am certainly no exception to this rule.

At the start of 2010, I was almost completely unrecognisable to the person who I am today. In fact I was completely unrecognisable to the person I was when I was 18 too. I had completely and utterly lost myself.

Having suffered a traumatic birth, a harrowing miscarriage, a failed adoption, several career changes, an unhealthy marriage, redundancy, financial problems, abuse, I found myself in 2010 a shell of the girl I once was. Of course, each of these incidents could be a novel in themselves but truth is, I have no inclination to expand on any subject, which is great for me as I have spent so much time dissecting each one of them in the past and yet I no longer find this necessary.

Lifting the Fog

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed by your daily life that you cannot see clearly? It’s like a dense fog has dropped down over you and you know the answers are out there, you may even know that things are not as bad as your imagination is trying to make you believe, but your inability to see clearly ahead makes you scared, lost and confused.
