Fighting Fibromyalgia with EFT & Reiki

I have worked with lots of clients who suffer from fibromyalgia. It appears to be a fairly modern ailment and once you become aware of it, it is incredible how many people you notice that have been diagnosed with it. Having witnessed many sufferers, I fully understand how debilitating, depressing and down right diabolical this illness can be. It affects every single aspect of a sufferers life and can leave sufferers feeling isolated and hopeless.

As a believer in ‘every physical dis-ease comes from an emotional imbalance‘, fibromyalgia fascinates me. Essentially (and in very basic terms) your brain receives very real signals that you have pains within your body. However, when that part of the body is examined, there is nothing physically wrong, so essentially the brain is sending an incorrect signal triggering a pain response. Knowing this, I was certain that Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Reiki could really benefit a sufferer and I devised a two step approach, EFT to reprogram the responses being sent to the brain and Reiki  to relax the client to lower stress and anxiety. Using this approach has yielded amazing results, not least with a lovely client, Sam, whom I met under a year ago.

Camera 360When I met Sam, she looked exhausted, emotional and at her wits end. She was just in the process of being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and it was hitting her hard. Within minutes of meeting her, she had used language which demonstrated she had accepted the diagnosis and was in a state of surrender to it. From that moment, I got Sam to agree that she would never take ownership of any disease, that she would be open to the possibility that she could live without it and that she would stop using the term ‘fibro’ or fibromyalgia at all. We agreed there and then that if Sam ever needed to talk about it, she was going to call it ‘the F word’.

40 Ways to Change Your Energy

As a New Year approaches, thoughts may be around all the things you want to achieve and accomplish in the coming twelve months. From working with clients who are suffering from low or negative energy, I know that in order to really achieve and be happy, you need to protect and maintain your energy. Of course, this can be done with a wonderful Reiki or EFT treatment, but there are so many ways you can change your energy yourself. Here are forty quick and easy ways to make you feel happier, more positive and of course, more energetic. Try one or all of them and let me know if you have your own ideas or techniques too!

1. Smile – Even if you feel there is nothing at all to smile about, raise a smile. It tricks our body and before you know it, you start to feel a little better.
