Ever since I was small, I have had an obsession with the moon. When I was about four, I was very poorly and my grandmother was holding me and, as a loving grandparent who wants to see her grandchild well again, she looked at me and asked ‘What can I get for you? Tell me what you want and I will get it for you, anything at all?’ my response without hesitation? ‘The Moon please nan’.
Of course, that left my nan in quite a predicament but it does illustrate how I have always had a lunar obsession (and probably also illustrates that I have always had a tendency to be high maintenance!).
As the years went by, I often found that gazing at the moon soothed and calmed me and I began to understand how the cycles of the moon influence us. After all, if the moon controls the tides, it makes sense it could have an effect on us.
Now, I can feel how I am affected by the changes in the moons cycle as well as use that energy to help me.
I believe that being outside and soaking up the moonbeams is as good for my health as soaking up the suns rays, so if you always hide after dark, be brave, peek your head outdoors and let your soul soak up the magical lunar energy.
“What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I’ll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll give you the moon, Mary.” George Bailey – It’s a Wonderful Life.
